Holy Week is an intensely spiritual time in the Christian tradition. This concert features music written specifically for Good Friday, performed on Good Friday. Haydn’s Seven Last Words for string quartet will be interspersed with Gesualdo’s Responsorias for voices. The Romanesque basilica of St Barnabas Church will provide an atmospheric setting for these two world-class ensembles to bring this extraordinary devotional music to life.
