Enriching, enlightening, and entertaining, Music at Oxford’s mission is to create and curate eclectic series of high-quality events and projects in and around Oxford for the enjoyment of all.

Founded in 1983 and incorporated in 1984, Music at Oxford collaborates with internationally renowned musicians to create powerful performances in the inspiring buildings and spaces of the Oxford city region.

Music can uplift, thrill, challenge and change us. We provide opportunities for experiencing music across many genres and in all its forms, connecting as many people as possible from all backgrounds to some of the best music in the world.

Music at Oxford is a charity and our latest audited accounts are available to view on the Charity Commission website.

Music at Oxford is registered with the Fundraising Regulator, and is a member of the following advocacy organisations:

British Arts Festivals Association

Oxford Cultural Anti-Racism Alliance

Green Arts Oxfordshire Network

We are only able to respond to concert and project proposals if they align directly with our artistic plans.

The principles that guide us are:

Excellence
We are passionate about music. We strive to be a high profile, distinctive and vital component of the cultural life of the Oxford city region by ensuring that exceptional quality is at the heart of all our activities.

Enrichment
We carefully curate ambitious, intelligent and interdisciplinary programmes that enrich, satisfy and challenge.  They bring artists, individuals and communities together to experience music and exchange ideas.

For Everyone
Our live music events, community and education projects, as well as our workplace, are welcoming and inclusive, and draw people from all sections of the community, regardless of their tastes, interests and circumstances.

Learning
It is important to us to offer meaningful opportunities to develop musical and listening skills in all sorts of settings, particularly to young people, the elderly and social and cultural groups that are currently under-represented. We also ensure that our staff and Trustees have the support they need to build their skills.
