Leave a gift in your Will

‘I really loved the festival atmosphere. That will stick with me for a long time.‘ (Festivalgoer, November 2022)

In recent years, gifts in Wills have helped us to:

  • Create bolder and bigger musical projects
  • Rebrand and build a new website
  • Strengthen our infrastructure
  • Withstand the financial devastation of Covid-19

By including Music at Oxford in your will, you are making a mark on the future and handing on a love of music to the generations that follow.

We would welcome gifts worded in general terms, so that we can direct your donation to the area of greatest need. By having a conversation with us now, we can help to make sure that your wishes are followed.

You can leave a specific sum of money, known as a pecuniary gift, or a share in what’s left of your estate after taking care of your family and friends. The advantage of leaving a share of your estate, also known as residuary gift, is that it will not lose value over time.

Writing Your Will
Writing a Will is simple to do, but we would always recommend that you seek advice from a qualified solicitor.

You can visit the Remember A Charity website to find a solicitor in your local area, who will be able to advise you on leaving gifts to charities when making a will.

Inheritance Tax
Currently all legacies to charities are free from Inheritance Tax. However, leaving a gift to charity can make also financial sense, reducing the rate of Inheritance Tax payable on your estate in some cases.

In Memory Gifts
A gift in memory of a loved one is a meaningful way to support a cause that was important to them. By leaving a gift in your Will in their memory or donating during your lifetime, their love of art and heritage can help us to inspire the next generation.
