The Ultimate Picture Palace is a community-owned cinema located on the Cowley Road in East Oxford. It is Oxford’s only independent cinema and one of the oldest cinemas in the UK. They show a mix of independent, international, and classic films all in the cosy single-screen auditorium.

Music at Oxford

By Car

The nearest carparks are on St Clements and Union Street. Both are pay-and-display and are a 5-10min walk from the cinema. There is a single blue badge parking space located directly opposite the cinema.

By Bus/Coach and Bike

The number 1 and 5 bus from Oxford city centre stop right outside and there are numerous bike parks very close by.

By Train

A direct service operates between both London Marylebone and London Paddington to Oxford station. Oxford station has direct rail services from many locations including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Hereford, Worcester, Newcastle and York. Is The Ultimate Picture Palace accessible for wheelchair users?

The Ultimate Picture Palace have a couple of spaces in the auditorium for wheelchair users located towards the back of the venue (near the bar). There is a small step on the pavement to access the venue, but they have a ramp handy if customers require.

Are there toilets?

The toilets are located within the auditorium on either side of the screen. The toilets are down a couple of steps, so are not-accessible for wheelchair users. However, we have a key to an accessible toilet for the church just across the road.
