Music, the Universal Language of Mankind

A Music Meditation Immersive Workshop

Building on the themes of tonight’s concert, join violinist and workshop leader Inês Delgado on the stage of the Oxford Town Hall in this immersive Music Meditation session.

The famous 19th century American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said that “music is the universal language of mankind”. Together, we will reflect on and discuss how music is a universal language that breaks down barriers and has a unique power to build compassion and connection. We will then explore Music Meditation practices guided by Inês and her violin.

No previous experience of music or meditation is required: only curiosity and an open mind. Feel free to bring your own mat, cushion or blanket for extra comfort! Please contact our learning and participation manager, Felicity, before booking if you have additional access needs.

We would like this event to be accessible to as many people as possible, so we will be inviting some guests from community organisations to take part in this workshop without paying. We also have three tiers of ticket prices so you can decide how much you would like to pay. If you feel able to, we would be so grateful if you could cover someone else’s participation by paying a bit more for your ticket.
