Arvo Pärt Centre: an open meeting place for creativity

This talk takes place in the Garden Room of the Levine Building

The Arvo Pärt Centre (founded by Arvo Pärt and his family in Estonia in 2010) aims to preserve and make accessible the archive of the composer’s musical heritage. It is an open meeting place for musicians, researchers and music lovers — for anyone interested in Arvo Pärt’s music and world of ideas. 

In 2018 the Centre in Laulasmaa, a village on a peninsula with pine forests and magnificent natural surroundings lying 35km west of the capital Tallinn, was opened to the public. The architects of the building are Fuensanta Nieto and Enrique Sobejano from Spain who won the international architectural design competition with their entry Tabula. 

In this presentation Anu Kivilo will introduce the concept, and the contents and activities of this open meeting place where the main keywords are “creating” and “creativity”.
