Spring 2021 Update
We have made it to Spring and the season of renewal once more! The feeling of renewal is one we share at Music at Oxford, and we want to let you know what we have been doing over these past few months and prepare you for our soon-to-be-announced, new season of events!
As I’m sure you can all appreciate, the last few months have been difficult for us, as they have been for many. Trying to plan events when news of the pandemic keeps fluctuating from good to bad and back again has been extremely challenging, but whilst planning new events has been complex, we are pleased to have been able to use the time to look at the organisation itself and refresh some of our ideas.
We have reviewed our mission statement, core values and policies, and have strengthened our infrastructure – more news about these soon. One of the biggest projects we have undertaken since the pandemic hit is a new rebrand and website which we hope to launch in just over a month’s time, so do watch out for our exciting new look! All of this work is the first step in our relaunch strategy which will culminate in a reinvigorated Music at Oxford in time for our 40th anniversary in 2023.
We are pleased to announce that concerts will start again at the end of August/early September. We will announce our season of events in stages, the first of which will happen in just over a month’s time.
As you will realise, one of the major issues concerning bringing back live events is whether we will need to cater for a socially distanced audience or not. As this has a major effect on tickets, we have decided to announce our season before putting tickets on sale. We are very excited to share with you what we have coming up, but we won’t be in a position to release tickets until we have reached the final stage in the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, currently set for the 21st June. Waiting for the announcement on 21st June will afford us greater flexibility in planning for how a socially distanced audience might work, and it will also mean that we have a better chance of avoiding a reduction in the number of seats at a later date.
As always, we will communicate any updates via our newsletters and on our website, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have, just email info@musicatoxford.com, and we will get back to you.
