Suspended animation – An August Update

As we all know, it has been a particularly tough time for all arts and cultural institutions over the last few months. Despite not being able to put on performances, we have been very busy trying to work out how and when we might be able to welcome our audiences back. Although we still have a lot of answers to find, we wanted to let you know our current plans. 

For a while now, the team have been thinking of ways in which we can adapt and expand our remit within the music scene of Oxfordshire. In this respect, the enforced suspension of concerts has helped us by giving us time to revisit our core values and look at what we and our audiences might want from Music at Oxford in the future. To this end, we have decided to keep ourselves in ‘suspended animation’ for a few more months so we have time to develop these ideas and come back stronger and bolder when the time is right.

Part of these plans will involve asking our audiences their opinion on a range of issues by way of a questionnaire which we will send via email in September. A state of ‘suspended animation’ means that we will not be producing any online musical content ourselves or hosting physical concerts for the time being. We will continue to add interesting content to our website and be active on our social media channels, and of course, we will inform you all as soon as we are ready to introduce our new season and relaunch plans.
