Announcing our 2021/2022 season
We are so pleased to be able to announce some of the concerts taking place in our 2021/2022 season. Alongside some artists who were postponed from last year, we are thrilled to present other genres with jazz groups Acoustic Triangle and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, the latter performing a programme that celebrates the life and music of jazz and pop singer Amy Winehouse. This half of the season also features the hardanger fiddle player and ECM artist Nils Økland, who joins the Engegård Quartet for a concert incorporating both folk and classical music. Finally, a special outside event is given by Cory Band, the highest ranked brass band in the world performing two afternoon concerts in the Warden’s Garden at New College – be sure to get your tickets quickly as this is going to be a wonderful celebratory occasion.
Our new education and community engagement strand
As part of our new direction, we are thrilled to begin a new strand of projects. We have recently hired a new member of the team as our Community Engagement and Concerts Co-ordinator to help us plan and present our new programme of events. Felicity Smith will start with us this month and over the next year will talk to schools and communities in our local area to find out where there’s a need for music education or community music events. She will then devise special programmes in close connection with our artists. We will keep you abreast of the exciting developments in this field with news items throughout the year, and if you work at a school or lead a community that you think could benefit from this work, please get in touch!
